Andrew Newton

Director

ARAN was established in 2010 by Andrew Newton. Educated at the University of Salford, Andrew gained a BSc (Honours) degree in Building Surveying in 2000. He gained valuable experience working for a medium sized Main Contractor before moving on to work at Ellis Williams Architects, Jefferson Sheard Architects, Barnsley College and later a secondment to BAM Construct UK.  Andrew has experience in the residential, educational, retail, commercial and transport sectors.

Joseph O’Brien

Architect

Joseph joined ARAN in 2020 before joining the team full time in 2021. Following the completion of his BA(Hons) in Architecture from the University of Portsmouth, Joseph worked in the Cotswold town of Nailsworth on bespoke homes, listed buildings and Paragraph 55 (now 79) houses. From there he moved to Manchester to complete his MArch from the Manchester School of Architecture and where he started working at jmarchitects. There he diversified his portfolio while working on a range of education and large-scale mixed use and residential projects at all RIBA stages.

ARAN has been awarded Smarter Planning Champion status by the Planning Portal. This confirms our commitment to follow best-practice guidelines for the submission of planning applications, saving time, money and carbon for our clients and helping local authorities to process our applications as quickly and efficiently as possible

 

ARAN was granted LABC Partner status in 2011. The LABC Partnership shows a commitment to excellence with the approach to Building Regulations applications. The partnership agreement enables us to submit Building Regulations applications to our partner authority for any project throughout England and Wales.
